Research
My interests in English language instruction include developing effective CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) curricula, and gaining a better understanding of my Japanese university students through statistically driven research. My previous research has shown that by using computers and lessons that make use of sources available on the Internet, students can improve their English ability. With current and planned research replicating such studies, I aimed to build upon those previous conclusions. In addition, through studies involving attitude surveys, analyses of student background data and inter-institutional comparisons, I have gained, and continue to gain, valuable insights into Japanese university English learners.
