Aging failures of insulating materials, including electrical breakdown, are important phenomena in terms of the reliability for power equipment and an electronic device. An electronic device like a LSI and mobile phone should be also considered that because of higher design electric field of an electronic device compared to that of power device. To clear electric properties of insulating materials, we perfume an electric breakdown test, an internal accumulation charge measurement using an acoustic wave, local discharge observation in local aging channel using an image intensifier, and etc. We also study electrical property of a functional polymer such as a tape for percutaneous absorption and a movement observation of an additive in a functional polymer. Furthermore, We develop an exoergic composite insulating with higher thermal conductivity and acceptable electric breakdown intensity which can be applied to a material for a power module in an automobile. In this laboratory, we study estimation of the performance, improvement of the performance, and technological application on these materials mainly consisting "impermeable material to electricity" and "a few permeable material to electricity"
